love and patience

when
she seeks love,
and where he seeks patience,
both being,
not immediate needs,
but rapacious hunger,
born out of voids
of eons of unlovedness,
ages of no indulgences
handed out by people
who have claimed to love them.
he kisses away her tears,
with his patient heart,
and she stitches his wounds,
with a kind needle,
they empty each other
of pain and sorrow.
and he fills her with compassion
and she fills him with love,
and thus love completes them.
